The 20th annual meeting of the ISS took place on Friday, April 19th 2024 and was a great success. This was an in-person meeting, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin City Centre. The meeting was a celebration the 20th anniversary of the Society, and focused on novel approaches to sleep disorder diagnosis, emerging methods of treating OSA, and on the challenge posed by the burden of referral to sleep centres around the country. Prof Carel le Roux gave a thought-provoking talk, challenging our approach to patients with obesity. Prof Joerg Steier gave an in-depth update on the role of hypoglossal nerve stimulation in OSA. Prof Erna Sif Arnardottier gave a stimulating talk on the future of sleep diagnostics and the exciting research that is ongoing in this field. Dr Liam Cormican and Geraldine Nolan gave an over view of the changing landscape of sleep in Ireland and the challenges ahead. There were over 100 attendees and the feedback was very positive making it the best AGM to date!
